Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are accused of child sexual abuse

Comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears have been accused of child sexual abuse in a new lawsuit filed this week.

In the lawsuit, first reported by The Daily Beast on Thursday (September 1), two anonymous plaintiffs accuse the comedians of recruiting them to perform sexually indecent acts for comedy skits that were filmed in 2013 and 2014.

The plaintiffs, named in the lawsuit as John and Jane Doe, were 7 and 14 years old, respectively, at the time of the alleged incidents.

The lawsuit cites eight counts against Haddish and Spears, namely intentional infliction of emotional distress, gross negligence, negligent supervision, breach of fiduciary duty, constructive fraud, sexual violence, sexual harassment and sexual abuse of a minor.

According to the lawsuit, the two alleged victims are the children of one of Haddish’s ex-girlfriends.

The complaint alleges that Haddish brought Jane Doe to a Hollywood studio to film a “sexually suggestive” video in which comedians asked her to watch a video of a group of women eating a sandwich and “moaning and making sexual noises.” while both ate the sandwich in a way that simulated the act.”

The plaintiff alleges that Spears then told Jane Doe that he wanted her to mimic what she had seen on the screen, “including the sounds exactly like the ones she had heard throughout the video.” Haddish then allegedly showed Jane Doe how to act “including movements, noises, moans and groans.”

When the scene ended, the plaintiff claims Haddish paid her $100 and sent her home. Plaintiff never spoke about the experience.

A year later, in 2014, Haddish contacted the mother to film another video, this time with her 7-year-old son. The video was a comedy scene titled “Through the eyes of a pedophile”.

The lawsuit alleges that John was stripped “down to his underwear” and that the video shows Spears “pressing on the 7-year-old and teasing him throughout the video.” The plaintiffs also allege that Haddish was present during the filming of the video.

As for Jon, the lawsuit alleges that he has “developed a social disorder, depression and anxiety” and that he lives in fear of being watched and recorded.

The lawsuit also alleges that in July 2018, the plaintiffs’ mother attempted to enter into a settlement with Spears regarding John’s video. The agreement, according to the lawsuit, stated that in exchange for $15,000, Joni’s mother had to “come to terms with Spears for what Doe did to her.”

The plaintiffs claim that the settlement agreement has “no legally binding effect” because Haddish was not named as a party. The complaint alleges that Haddish “implied that she wanted no part of Spears’ settlement agreement by text.”

The complaint also alleges that the brother and sister had no guardian present to represent their interests as minors at the time.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages and have filed for a jury trial.
