King Charles ‘furious’ after being forced to give up Sandringham’s…

King Charles was reportedly not happy to give up one of Sandringham’s best bedrooms for his brother, Prince Edward.

This Christmas, several members of the Royal Family will be spending December 25 at Sandringham as they come together to celebrate the festive season.

Like any other family, Christmas spent with royal relatives can sometimes lead to disagreements and complications.

This year, festivities will include 45 guests, marking one of the biggest Windsor Christmas celebrations ever held on the estate.

While no claims have yet emerged of disputes involving the accommodations at the Norfolk estate this year, clashes have been reported in the past between King Charles and Edward over who would get the best bedroom at Sandringham.

Despite an estimated 29 bedrooms and over 100 rooms to choose from, it seems Queen Elizabeth II’s sons clashed over who got the best one.
When Charles was told in 1999 that he would have to give up his favourite suite of rooms to his newly-married and younger brother Edward, things became more tense, the Daily Mail reports.

At the time, Charles had become single, following his divorce from Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1996, and didn’t need the extra space, while the then Earl and Countess of Wessex did.

The now-King Charles was reportedly furious, but the late Queen’s rules at the Christmas gathering, where space can be tight, had to be obeyed.

Royal ladies have an automatic right to a dressing room, and single men — even those who are heir to the throne — must give way.

This is so that the royal ladies, who have to bring a range of outfits, have space to change as they need to do so several times a day.

They also have to wear something different each evening, while the men wear black tie.

But Charles got his own back in 2005 after he married the now Queen Camilla, as he was able to reclaim his favourite room, with a retired courtier reportedly telling the Daily Mail’s Richard Kay he was “especially happy” that year.
